My Passion
My passion is providing solutions to the problems all families encounter, namely how to protect their dreams in the face of difficult situations. I chose to open an estate planning practice to help people prepare for their future through proactive planning. When I first started my estate planning practice, I
was thrown into the world of Medicaid planning when my father had a series of strokes that severely impaired his speech and mobility. My mother was faced with the difficult situation of inability to care for him at home and challenge of long-term care facility expenses. As an estate planning attorney, this
event motivated me to learn more about Medicaid planning. I realized a large population of people need help to both protect their families' futures through estate planning and planning for potential long-term care through Medicaid.
My Story
Taking care of clients
is my top priority!
Prior to a career in the law, I worked in medical editing assisting doctors in publishing their research. Through this experience working closely with doctors I gained an understanding of how the ever-changing landscape of health care can puzzle even the most savvy consumers.
While working full time, I attended the University of Houston Law Center where my background in research and writing helped me excel in appellate writing and Moot Court (where I served as the Executive Chair of the Moot Court Board). I was also privileged to work as an intern for Judge David Hitter in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas and for Justice Jane Bland in the Texas First Court of Appeals. After graduating and passing the bar, I pursued a career in litigation before discovering that my passion was to help others prepare for their future.
First-Hand Experience
I have first-hand experience and understand the difficulty my clients face when contemplating a future of care. When I meet with clients to discuss their circumstances, I am there to listen. By understanding each clients' personal story, I am able to tailor an appropriate and specialized plan just for them. Whether planning for care of minor children in case of the unthinkable or elderly parents to ensure long-term care is available, my mission is to help remove the stress of planning for the future so my clients can sleep better at night.
Driven by Passion
Driven by that passion, I opened my practice with the support of my husband, Evan Odensky, who worked
in research and counseling at MD Anderson Cancer Center for over a decade.
This passion has led me to seek accreditation by the National Elder Law Foundation as a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA). Certification in elder law, one of the fastest growing fields in the legal profession, indicates an in-depth working knowledge of the legal issues that impact the elderly.
Today, we live in the Greater Houston area and I serve the estate planning, elder law, business succession planning, and probate needs of fellow Texans.
